HAND

some premature things are
in this world
written by the deaf-mute
and their words are naked
under angry-looking trees

some overworked birds
full of sensitive desire
whistle while they hear
nothing senseful
in this world
of wide-open-looking wings

some distrusted dogs
barking disappointed
in this world
dark and dying
out of which their music
sounds like the deaths
in their dewful tombs
right in the middle
of the big wide-open-looking church
